Introducing “Today’s Jewelry”
A little bit of background info…
Being a jeweler’s daughter, I get access to all kinds of insanely cool jewelry - most of my favorites are pieces my family wants to melt down and use for metal. As a kid they would put me to work untangling chains in the melt-down-box with my tiny hands and I would always find (and often get to keep) some of the amazing treasures I found.
Now that I’ve started my own jewelry business, I’ve made a project of saving some of these super cool pieces and sharing them with the world. So, unless I inherited it from my grandmother, everything is for sale. Simply inquire.
One of the best parts of my job is getting to deck myself out daily in stylish combinations of estate pieces I’ve collected “From the Vault” and original pieces Hannah and I have created.
Most of the pieces I wear have a story behind them - some kind of interesting history or sentimental value. I like to assign meaning to my jewelry. It seems that pieces fall into my orbit at appropriate times - talismans that represent strength when I’m feeling weak or love when I need it most.
I’d like to share these stories with you so that you can see some of the the beauty I see in these objects meant to be worn for a lifetime.
And now, for Today’s Jewelry…

Here’s an outfit I wore a few weeks back, influenced by the retro Vegas vibe permeating our next collection. As usual, I layered on the jewels. Here’s the piece by piece breakdown and some close-ups of the found pieces…
The Jeweler’s Daughter 14 kt Heart of Gold ring $250
A simple, easy to wear TJD original. I never take it off. It reminds me to always keep my heart open to the love that’s coming my way.

Onyx and 14 kt Gold Knuckle Cover (Price available upon request)
I saved this guy from being melted down for metal after we cracked a safe we had lost the combination to. It’s tough but beautiful and adds a contemporary edge to any outfit.

Gold Plated Indian Cuff with Turquoise Inlay
Found this in the melt-down-box last year right before my launch party. I decided to gold plate it and put it in the Estate Collection. During the plating, part of the turquoise cracked from the heat. Since it was damaged I couldn’t sell it, but it was so cool that I kept it for myself.
Gold Plated Stardust Necklace $250
Vegas’ favorite for sure, inspired by the now closed Stardust hotel. One long strand redesign thanks to a customer, this piece was originally made for the Jewel & Fern collection in sterling platinum with colored c.’s. Now we make it in 14k gold plate too. It can be wrapped around the neck up to three times - I personally like to wear it long.
The first piece of jewelry I ever carved out of wax back at Sarah Lawrence and a personal signature of mine. This charm always reminds me that the world keeps turning, things keep going, and one must constantly be on the lookout for what is up next. And… And… And…
Chevron Cuffs $90
Originally in oxidized silver for Second Season: Bridges, now we’ve got gold plated. I’d been wearing the silver everyday and added the gold to my wrist after my Seven Magazine shoot to signify overcoming my fear of the camera.

Chain with Beads (Price available upon request)
Found in the melt-down-box, most likely from the 70’s. “The beads might be Jade,” my brother says. “Probably plastic though”. Joey - always so helpful ;) I really dig the pattern of the chain.
Thanks for reading! Check back soon for future installments of Today’s Jewelry. I really enjoy telling the stories behind my pieces - if you have any questions or are interested in a piece email me: polly@thejewelersdaughter.com
